BPE has another goal; besides building a festival where 7 million people from all corners of the globe join to state that We Choose to be Friends, we’re building a city. A city where Biggest Party Ever takes place, however unlike other festivals where once all the tents are packed away and the people have gone home all is left is a few muddy fields, at BPE we have a bigger picture in mind.
Working together we will build a place that not only allows us to share ideas and express our message, but we will give the houses to refugees who have lost their homes. We aim to build a city for 700.000 people, for those who don’t have a home to go back to. Indeed, it might sound a little ambitious, but let’s see where our boundaries are when we work together.
Former president of Uruguay (2010-2015), José Mujica, once said, “I hope to present myself for the final journey like someone who goes into a bar and says to the bartender, ‘this round is on me!’.”
Building this city is our way of saying to our fellow human beings who have fled their homes that we will not continue the wars of the generations before us, we are part of a new generation on the rise, and together we can build a new world. One that takes care of each other, we choose to be friends and this round is on us!
The possibilities of our generation are endless.
